Sorry about the lack of posts. My laptop was under serious sleep, and I barely blog on other computers. Christmas was pretty fun I guess. I had a blast playing Scene-It again. Jack Daniels......that was messed up. I got money I do not deserve and Harry Potter books minus the last one. Awesome that I got that. I was about to buy it during finals week. It's amazing how the size of each book gets bigger and bigger.
And holy shit, HDTV content is freaking sweet. My dad recently bought a HDTV tuner and it looks amazing. Too bad the content is pretty slim right now, but I can't wait to see the episode of Lost during the start of the new year. It's like the things I download but from the TV.
As for gaming, I'm still trying to beat Hard in Guitar Hero and trying to finish Two Thrones. I had to transfer the ps2 to the basement because the S-Video connection didn't look that great on the LCD. It was like watching TV intoxicated. So fuck that shit. I would rather play using an RF switch. At least, I can begin to start on DDR again.

i'm a happy camper
Yes, I'm finally home again. It's good to be home after three weeks without my precious Playstation 2. We watched King Kong on Friday. While it does have some flaws with pacing and length, I really enjoyed it. It really reminded me of Jurassic Park, one of my favorite films. And Naomi Watts, she is really a beautiful woman. It is a bit weird to see Adrian Brody. I kept on shouting in my head, "Play the piano!"
Anyways, I've been playing Guitar Hero, Resident Evil 4, and Ratchet: Deadlocked. They're pretty fun games. I finally defeated Medium, but I'm currently trying to get five stars on each song before I move on since Hard seems a bit much. Resident Evil 4 brings back scary moments. I opened one of the crates thinking there was an item inside. I tried to pick up the item, then jumped in my seat as the snake attacked Leon. Goddammit. Capcom still has some good scares. As for Ratchet: Deadlocked, it's a fun game. I hope to finish it by the end of the week that is if the pain isn't too great after my surgery tomorrow.
Yeah, my surgery tomorrow. I never got any major surgery before unless you think cutting off skin is surgery. I won't go into details as people might barf thinking about it. I'm going to get four teeth removed. Two because I have to sooner or later and two because they are going to cause serious problems sooner or later. I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. I might become a bumbling, drooling idiot once I come out of that office. I hope I don't piss my pants or take a shit while I'm drugged.

three down, one more to go
Yes, I took three finals today, and yes, I failed all of them. Thanks to my lame ass of a brain. Video games is the only thing that sticks to my brain for some reason, but when I took that out of the equation, it kind of cleared things up. I got some studying done, but I do not think it was enough. Since I was sick Saturday, I could only cram on Sunday rather than study for the two days. Damn, sad thing is, that was the only time I ever drank.
Tomorrow is my Data Communications final which, yes, I will fail. My friend gave me a couple of pointers that might help me on the test and I wish I could have done the same for him. The damn teacher pulls a good one and puts some idiotic questions that only he and some nerds will answer. Bullshit.
I have no freaking idea what I plan to do for the next couple of days since I will be done with finals tomorrow. Watch movies? Play arcade games? They bore me. PS2!!!! I'M ALMOST HOME!!!
Of course, movies will be sufficient. I have yet to watch the delightfully tasty Havoc starring American beauty Anne Hathaway. I also need to watch a perfect rip of Tom Yum Goong and watch S.P.L. again with english subtitles. Harry Potter sounds good to watch again. So is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Goddammit......when will it end?? It pains me to do it over and over again, yet I can't stop. It's an addiction you see. An addiction that will lead me to my demise. Oh yes, it will. I really need to stop.

that's not cool
The Simpsons is just getting worse and their recent episode says it. It even hit a entire new low for them as they criticized Family Guy and American Dad for plagiarizing the Simpsons. They are not as playful as Family Guy take on the Simpons (like when Homer hits the door and Peter asks, "Who is that?"). Boo Simpsons. Boo.
sigaw
This movie is something. Technically video wise, it looks much better than most films that come out of that country. Audio wise, they still can't get post processing done right. It's a bit too long. I kept on shouting, "OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR YOU PUSSY!!!" This movie is full of cliches that I can't do away with. I don't know why the characters walk so slowly when they do something that is of importance. I even laughed when the girlfriend got beat up by the invisible policeman. I even laughed when the caretaker retells what happens because as you know, they need somebody to spell it out for the characters. What I truly didn't like was the direction of the film. It showed scenes from the past and molded them with the present so it confused the viewer of when that is happening. I would have liked it if it was like Silent Hill 4 when the character would just view the action from the peephole or like in the movie he would only hear the noises. But they still had to place those scenes from the past into the present.......fucking retarded I tell you.
I also hated the fact that the person who encoded it put the film in 2.35:1 ratio. Thank god for VLC because I could adjust it to 1.85.
Anyways, pinoy films are getting better. They just need to tell the story better without resorting to film cliches.
On other movie news, I can't stop watching that fight scene in SPL between the assassin and Donnie Yen. It's made so well especially with the music. At the climax of the fight, the upbeat music starts to play and gets louder and louder as the fight continues and ends with a choir boy singing. It sort of says to the viewer, "I beat you motherfucker." I finally got some english subs to go with the movie so this time this week, I have to watch the movie again.

no more hard liquor for me
I am seriously going to stop drinking hard liquor. Today was not a good day to spend in bed especially with finals in two days, but it had to be done. I drank a crapload of vodka mixed with mountain dew and vodka mixed with coca cola. Too much in fact. The bottle it was in was one of those 1-liter bottles and I drank 90%. That was the dumbest thing I could have done. I puked around six times yesterday night and around four times this morning.
This will freak you out so, if you are queasy, don't read anymore. Here is what my vomit looked like. When I first threw up, I could still see the liquor. But soon after that, I was mostly just throwing up stomach acid as I did not eat anything after 5pm. It was just yellow fucking acid. Then I tried to drink water which was not a good idea when you have a hangover it seems. I even threw up the water. My trash can was quarter full of vomit.
So yeah, my first vomiting experience from liquor and my first hangover. Yuck. Just give me Mountain Dew and I'll be happy or maybe those drinks with only 5% alcohol.

:(
Today is a bad day, so I don't want to talk about it. Anyways, I watched "Be With You". These Japanese, they know how to make movies. I was a bit shocked at the ending and it makes perfect sense. That was a freaking great movie. Lifted my spirits for a few hours before I began thinking about what happened.

imagining that I rock in guitar hero
So, I heard and read that the guitar finally arrived at the house. I'm a bit relieved since I did not receive any email regarding shipping of the product. It's cool that Felice and my mom tried it out, now I know that it works. I can't wait to rock out on that thing. Yeah, I played the game with Jorge's guitar, but I really want to play every song and become awesome at it.
I was walking by the dorm rooms and saw one of my floor mates rocking out on what looked like Hard/Expert mode. I giggled a bit, but then told myself, "I'll probably look like that when I play."
Oh man did it snow today. Fuck. Class ended like normal today so nothing special happened. Well one thing non-school related got me excited: MAME. Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. It's one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. Final Fight, Alien Versus Predator, X-Men, Neo-geo games, The Simpsons, Run and Gun, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Back in Time, Robocop (which doesn't look cool anymore)........all in arcade form!!!! It's amazing how small these games are. For example, Run and Gun is only 7MB!!! 7 Fucking MB. There are textures in games that take up that much space......yet they are not that fun. I'm having a blast playing these games especially with Run and Gun because it brings back so much good memories. Unfortunately, Run and Gun 2 doesn't work which in my memory, was damn awesome. Even Robocop. I still remember playing that game in a Lowes movie theater. It was so cool, but now it looks okay. But holy shit, Final Fight. No more stupid SNES tinny sounds. It's all arcade now!!!

umm...kay
Today was okay. I rushed my ass off to class because I decided to sleep in for 30 more minutes. I went to class as usual. My economics teacher went over review for Friday's test and well as the final on Monday. During the class, I was writing notes for my paper that was due at noon. For some odd reason, I lost track of time yesterday and didn't get to finish it. I had four pages done, and I just needed one page more. I finally got the chance to type it up then rush over to the art office to hand it in. I then had time to take a shower, dress up for my interview, watch a bit of TV, then go to the mock interview. It went okay. So now, I'm still stressed because I have a paper due tomorrow and a test Friday.
I really can't wait for this to end.
43.7% finished of Sigaw. Boy, I can't wait.

good & bad news
I got some good news today. I don't have to do a presentation for my 375 class. But the paper is still due. The bad news is that I figured out how many finals I'll be taking. Since two of my classes don't have finals, I have four. Three of them are on Monday. 7:50am/10:00am/3:10pm. Motherfucker. Of course, this means that I only have finals on Monday and Tuesday leaving the rest of the week to me. I guess it's okay but that means some heavy studying. Some really heavy studying.
Doesn't that guy in my image header look evil? It's because he is.

sorry
I'm sorry about that last post. It was a really bad day. I got close to nothing done and Family Guy/American Dad weren't new. It sucked.
But today, holy shit. One of my teachers is gone for the rest of the week so that means that I will only have one class Wednesday and Friday. The best news is that there will be no final for the class. HOORAY!! It's only this paper that I have been working on. Then when I went to the food court, I won a free prize. I got the hat since I don't have one. Cool eh?

yeah
I watched a shitload of movies over the weekend. I tried to watch "Blood Rain", but my DVD-ROM drive couldn't read the disc as it stopped a quarter way in. Here is the list of movies I watched.
-Samaria
-Sha Po Lang aka S.P.L
-Tale of Cinema
-Marrying the Mafia
-Pornostar
Going to watch "Crying Fist" now. I freakin' hope that works. I watched movies because I really don't want to work on my project. I really don't.
So yeah. I started to download that Filipino movie "Sigaw". Wow, me actually downloading a movie made by pinoys. That's a first. It's not Japanese, Korean, English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai.....its a freakin' Tagalog movie. It's a good thing that I don't need English subs. I'm also downloading "Tom Yum Goong". It's a screener, but its good enough. It doesn't look like the VCD that was released, but the group that released it did a messed up job. It's a 25 fps movie encoded to 23 so yeah, the picture is fucked up.
Did anybody else see that anti-piracy ad from Arnold and Jackie Chan? I laughed my ass off. But hear me world, I will no longer download DVD-rips of movies that are coming out on DVD. Just TV and games. :)

so what's new?
Nothing much really. I finally bought a guitar for Guitar Hero, so Felice and Daniel should be having fun next week while I rot here studying for tests, finals, and doing projects.
It's cool though. I bought it using my Christmas present from one of my aunts. $50 for a game controller. Can you imagine that? That free shipping expired, and plus, I didn't want that super saver shipping. Compared to Amazon's saver shipping, it sounds off. 3-day shipping sounds fine to me. Daniel's first impressions of the guitar were bad. He thought he would actually strum the guitar. If that is the case, strum the real thing. It's a game. DUH.
Got some new goodies during my return back at school: a DVD of The Myth, Lost, South Park (I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the credits), A Sound of Thunder, The Frighteners, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Lord of War, and Prison Break (goddamn Daniel.....waste my bandwidth for something you watched).
Lost.....HOLY SHIT. Too bad that new reel didn't show much. I wonder why they removed it from the original? And what the fuck is happnening? That black horse? Is that Kate's old boyfriend or her father? It's getting weirder on that island, and I like it.
Harry Potter......jesus I hate this franchise. And you want to know why? It is because for some reason, I WANT TO READ THE BOOKS. When I first saw the movies, I was like "bah, Harry Potter, that's kids stuff." As the movies progressed, I started to get interested in the characters (and no, I do not like the girl sexually like some people.....that's just sick). However, you have to love that accent. Like my brother, I love foreign accents. It's so damn sexy (and please don't say because that girl has an accent that I think that she is hot.....that's just sick). Anyways, I'm ranting about this franchise. Main thing is I WANT TO READ THE BOOKS. The movies are awesome. I wonder how good the books are. The more I think about it, the more I think the Harry Potter books resemble many people's early childhood days. For example, when Harry and Ron were sitting down when everybody is dancing, I related to that. Sorry ranting again. Now the question is, how cheap can I get the books at?
Okay enough of Harry Potter. Now to the next movie: A Sound of Thunder. Like I said to my brother on the phone, this is one of those movies you would see as a Sci-Fi Original. It has horrendous special effects ever to grace the movie screen especially in this age of CG innovation. It's like they took a couple of students from an art school and had them make the effects. From the trailer, the effects didn't look that bad, but once you see the movie, you'll laugh (and you will). The story is not that bad, but this is still a time travel movie. Time Travel movies do not work......ever. Donnie Darko is a bit of different as it introduces new dimensions, but time travel in A Sound of Thunder does not work since its decription of time travel is shit. Bad movie. Avoid this at ALL costs unless you are drunk and see this on Sci-Fi channel.
Lord of War. Good movie. Scared of the black man. Bilbo died. Hot woman. Hot women in military gear with hot bodies. Bullets. Blood. Didn't like the main character, but it was a nice change. Cocaine is bad. Don't try it. I know I won't.
South Park. This show gets better every time. Watch it.
