kingdom of heaven ost

This is truly one great soundtrack. It reminds me of video game music in how the music alters for every level. It does have a theme, but it is not apparent in every track. Every track is so different and enjoyable. I especially like "Pathway to Heaven" and "The Pilgrim Road".......whom am I kidding, I like them all.

the unborn

This was an okay movie. I just couldn't stand how cliched the plot was. I'm so tired of watching horror flicks with the bad guy being the person you least suspect.

I think the best thriller/horror movie is Se7en. That movie put you on the edge of you seat.

hmmmm

I think I killed my readers by doing that lame joke. If anybody knows me, they know I'll never stop posting journal entries. Come back!!!!

Anyways, I stayed up until 4:00am trying to finish Predator: Concrete Jungle. It gets really frustrating at the end, but I got through it. The game even throws Aliens at you........yes the aliens from the Alien movie. It's quite cool. Too bad you can't grab their tail and swing them around.

I'm going to finish The Unborn today. It's actually a pretty good horror flick.

wah!

School sucks. I just want to play Predator: Concrete Jungle. I have a program due Monday, a paper due tomorrow, and a project due next Thursday. It's time to turn off geek mode, and time to turn on nerd mode.

Thanks to Arvin, I made a South Park character that looks like me.

its not over

At Saturday 12:00am, I'm going to post my last entry for some time. I'm not going to post unless it is extremely important. For example, I went to the hospital because I was hit by a car because I was high. Something like that. I'm not going to delete my blog. It will just be dormant. However, I will still change the pictures.

As for the goddamn title, I'm still thinking. The Dead Future does seem bleh.

title & readers

This sucks. I have no readers with the exception of Jorge and my brother. How depressing. Nobody wants to be in the credits.

And you guys hate the title. Jeez, so fucking hard to please you guys.

Here is my final title. Hate it, I don't care. I made up my mind.

The Dead Future

egm

I recently downloaded my new egm. One thing I have to say: new zelda game.

Fuck the PSP. I want a Gamecube.

new title

Since most of you think the title sucks. I decided to change it again. Give feedback as usual.

The new title will be: Continuum. It's fairly unique and it drops the dreaded "effect" word.

I have a test. If you are a faithful reader, comment now and you will be included in the credits of my remake. This way, I know how many people actually read my site on a regular basis. This excludes my brother and Jorge.

Don't you guys want to be in something special? Plus, if there are no girls that read my site other than my cousins, I can definitely tell myself that there is no fucking way I'm going to have a sex life ever.

the time effect

Yes, this is the new title of the remake of I Against I. Yes, it is corny, but hey it is what I'm aiming for.

Pre-production has also started. I started to get ideas on how to revamp the movie, script and shot wise.

kung fu hustle & dead to rights II

I watched the hilarity that is Kung Fu Hustle. I hated the theatre because the sound for some reason crapped out halfway. Everything after that sounded hollow. Movie still kicked ass though.

Dead to Rights II. Another quite frustrating game. It plays almost like the first game, but not quite. I can't put my finger on it, but this feels like a hand-me-down of a game.

I have a new problem peeps. My back is seriously aching. I have no idea what is causing it, I think its a sprain or something. I woke up one day to find that everytime I stood up or leaned my head back, it would be very, very painful. It comes and goes though. Eh, it'll just go away.

family guy first episode of new season

All I have to say is: Family Guy is back and kicking. This episode was hilarious. Enjoy it May 1st.

testing

Sorry about the lack of posts, but I was very busy lately. I was doing homework and testing out the usb tuner card for the past couple of days.

Final conclusion for the tuner card is that I'm going to sell it. While it is cool to have TV and gaming on my laptop, the performance wasn't all that great. It will perform better on a system with native usb 2.0 ports and for a person that will use it for TV and capturing purposes. Because such is the case, I'm going to sell it. I know I won't get as much back, but hey it was worth a try.

****

I beat Rise of the Kasai. Game sucks. It's more like an add-on than a definite sequel.

****

As for the layout, I'm thinking of going back. I was getting a bit tired of the black, but once I get photoshop, I'll be sure to make it visually attractive.

problem solved

I was going to wait until the afternoon to get the enclosure, but fuck it. I went to breakfast and got my enclosure soon after.

I tested it with the pcmcia firewire/usb 2.0. Same bad partition error. BUT I tested the drive on the usb 1.1 port on my laptop and what do you know........it works. The problem was the pcmcia card itself.

I lost so many files due to this stupid fucking POS. It was not the enclosure at all.

whoopee!!!

TigerDirect.com has freaking fast shipping. I ordered Sunday and the item I ordered was just delivered to my hall this morning. This could be due to the fact that the distribution center is in Illinois. It is only my new enclosure. It's cool because I can now test to see if my hard drive is actually the one at fault.

I also can't wait for the TV wonder. This is taking longer since it was shipped from Arizona. It arrived at Hodgekins, IL, so its getting close. I'll be sure to update with my impressions.

episode III ost *edit*

I just got this today. It sounds pretty awesome since its more dramatic. "Battle of the Heroes" is the song featured in one of the tv spots. Overall, it doesn't sound as cheesy as the first two soundtracks.

I find it a bit disturbing that this doesn't have a theme that stands out. Episode One has Duel of the Fates and episode two has that love theme.

Edit: This release is nuked because it was upsampled from 128kb. No wonder it sounded like shit.

one nite in mongkok

This is one great film. It starts off as a gang rivalry, then becomes a "get to know the hitman" plot, then the police side of things. It's a wonderful trio of sides. Daniel Wu plays the hitman who is supposed to kill the brother of a crime boss. But the thing is that he has never killed before. During his time in Mongkok, he meets a free-spirited hooker played by Cecilia Cheung.

As this is playing on, the police is trying to catch Wu because he is going to trigger a disaster. The operation is called "One Night in Mongkok."

The plot gets tense during the climax and even at the end. And did I mention how hot Cecilia Cheung is? Yup she is. She was hot in Running in Karma, and even hotter here.

The only thing that didn't fit was the last two scenes where the director put in these two statistics about Hong Kong and Mongkok. Hong Kong is named for its sweet scent and Mongkok is the most densely populated area in the world. I don't know why they put that in.

There is this awesome line in the movie.

"Despite the foul air, this place is still a paradise."

Guess what country I'm thinking about now. Yup. The wonderful place called the Philippines.

amplitude

I received this game today. I've already logged in 2 hours into this baby......it is that addictive.

I tried out Brutal and Insane. Brutal I can take since I passed the first level, but Insane....omg this mode truly kills me. I passed the first three songs in the first level, but the boss song, jesus, I don't know how I'll pass it.

I'm debating whether or not I should buy another enclosure because I think it might be my enclosure that could be the problem. Because as all of you know, it is what shorted out my ps2 hard drive. The shortage could have damaged the IDE interface of the enclosure. If I do buy another one and the hard drive still doesn't work, then I could definitely say it is the hard drive, but I'm not so sure. I still have a couple of months in my warranty, so I'm not in a real hurry, but my laptop hard drive is getting a bit crowded. So if I buy an enclosure......it will surely be an expensive one.

pic of what could be

This will be the position I'll be in if a girl is on my bed

Sorry about the lack of posts. I've been posting mostly about my gaming habits on the gamers advisory panel which not everybody will enjoy on this journal. Movies, my daily life (if it gets any good), or games will be featured here.

As for my games, I finished the most boring game in the world, Full Spectrum Warrior. I started to play Dead to Rights II which is freakin' hard. I'm also trying to complete Expert mode in Frequency which btw is no easy task. I even started a new game in Rise of the Kasai. If you like the Mark of Kri, then you'll definitely love this game.

As for the ebay win, it is a usb 2.0 TV Wonder which will let me watch cable tv on a computer with usb 2.0. Hopefully, it'll work with games. If it doesn't, I'll just give it to my brother for the summer before I go back to school. Or maybe I'll just sell it.

Thursday, April 14, 2005

eh, screw it

I decided to go for it again, and this time I won...its still $10-15 cheaper. Not the $20 cheaper I was going for, but it is still a deal. It not like I buy a lot of things anymore. I'll give some impressions when I get it.

ebay update

Whew!! I didn't win the auction. More money for the PSP. Yeah, I've been hearing some awesome impressions about the PSP. There are some downsides, but its only minor things (air bubbles, dead pixels). I will hopefully get one during the summer once I secure a part-time job. First game to get is Lumines. I'll probably buy a 1GB stick, mainly for movies. I just hate that Sony had not decided to release the stand alone version. I don't need those extra accessories. I would just buy a hard, protective case and that is it. That filmsy soft case won't do crap to protect the PSP.

Part time job because it looks like I'll be going to school during the summer. Most likely to College of Dupage. I hope registration is still open. I should have done this from freshman year. I still remember that I didn't do jack shit during the summer after my first year of college. I still want to work though, maybe to pay for summer school and some things for myself.

And can you believe that even though I didn't fill out a W2 form at Springbrook....I still had to file taxes? I did pay taxes at Springbrook so maybe it was automatically registered. I wish I had done the taxes myself. All I needed to fill out is a 1040EZ form......and those are very very simple to fill out.

ebay

I have the money so I had to buy it.......man I hope I get outbid. I won't say what the item is until I get it......that is if I win. I don't know why I do this. I should be saving up my money for a PSP!!!! But do I really want a PSP? I find it kind of funny that Daniel has seen a PSP before I have. I've never seen it in person, only through pictures. Maybe I just want it because it is a hot item right now. That is always the case. I wanted an Xbox because of Halo 2, but that soon passed. I wanted a DS, but that passed. I wanted a Gamecube for $99, but that passed. Soon this PSP craze will pass.

Microsoft is planning to unveil the new Xbox on May 12 on MTV. Out of all the channels......it had to be MTV. I hate MTV. Ever since I came back from spring break, I've never seen a music video on it. I've watched some shows like The Inferno II (that Jaime chick is freakin' hot) or some other crap on there. Somebody also released some early shots of the controller and shit its ugly. They should have just kept with the "S" design.

I watched some interesting trailers this afternoon. One is Nightwatch, a foreign fantasy film, that looks amazing. It looks convoluted, but those visuals are top of the line. I even watched this horrible zombie trailer for a movie that was a hit in Austrailia.

nes

I just got 960 NES roms. Sweet stuff. Add to that the 150 SNES roms I already have......yes including Plok.

I started to play Robocop.......did you know that he had a block button? I certainly didn't when I played this game years ago. Now I can get past that damn factory.

the never ending DDR/Freq debate

I seriously do not know why this stupid debate between these two games came into play DDR and Frequency are both fun games to play and I do not think one game exceeds another.

Frequency only has one thing against it. The gameplay of this game limits the user base. Not everybody can enjoy it. DDR, on the other hand, is a game that anybody, I mean everybody, can play. DDR is all about trying to master the steps, and not about the music. This is where the confusion starts. Frequency is about the music. Why do people play Max 300 or Legend of Maxx? Not because of the music, but because of the steps involved.

DDR and Frequency are entirely two different games. Just like one of the comments here. You cannot compare masturbation to sex......its two different things. If masturbation involved a woman, then maybe you can compare it, but as it stands you cannot.

End of discussion.

star wars fans waiting in line a month before release = dumbasses

I just started a debate on a forums I frequent to. It's about those Star Wars fans waiting a month before the film's release. In my opinion, they are dumbasses because they could just pre-order their tickets, work for that month, then watch the movie when it comes out in May.

This guy thinks I'm a idiot for saying that these people are dumbasses and pathetic. He even said that they do not deserve this cruel treatment. Yes they do deserve it. They don't have a life or a job for that matter. I would understand if they are only showing this once. That is not the case though because they will be showing this movie thousands of times in one theatre. It's only a movie people.

Those fans could work for a month, get a crapload of money, then spend that money to watch Episode III once a day until they run out of money. Wouldn't that be better than wasting one month doing nothing but discuss rumors, read the novel, or play Star Wars Stratego?

frequency

I started to play this little gem a couple of days ago. This game is very addicting. I'm still awkward to the controls since I've been only getting 50% success rate on Normal on certain songs. I've been getting 90-100% on slow songs though even on Normal.

This game is just as addicting as DDR. I have no idea why there is rivalry between these two games. Sure there is a gameplay element to Frequency, but its just implemented differently in DDR. The only thing is Frequency is that when you mess up, you mess up. At least with DDR, when you miss a step, its not a big deal. In Freq, it just messes up your beat.

wtf is going on

I do not know what is happening, but I have had some serious issues with hard drives in the past couple of weeks. My 120gb PS2 hard drive got shock therapy, and now my 250gb hard drive gets some corrupted indexes. It took me hours to recover my files because I had to copy them from the hard drive unto my laptop drive, then burn them to a DVD. From there I had to re-partition the drive, then transfer the data back to the drive from the DVDs. I didn't copy the things I have no need for like mp3's I already have or movies.

I created four different partitions. Movies, Games, Music, and Documents....all varying in size. Hopefully this way when one partition goes out, not everything will go down with the ship.

But for some odd reason, I knew this would happen some day. Maybe I jinxed myself when I told Daniel, "Oh man, if my 250gb hard drive gets screwed up, I'll be pissed."

caught in the act

Ah, damn. My so called april fools joke was read by many. You know, after thinking about it and listening to what my brother had to say, that was pretty illogical and of course, pretty damn stupid. It's not realistic enough. Me having a brain tumor? I wish. If I did have one, I would be at least relieved that my memory problems aren't my fault.

Don't worry folks. I'll give you a good one next year.

I just watched another fine episode of Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig. There was a line though that got me fucking crazy.

"Can full bodied cyborgs have sex?"
"You want to try?"
"Nah."

Motoko Kusanagi is so hot as an anime babe, I wouldn't hesitate at all if she said that.

stupid 911 call

Damn bitch wants her burger done right.

Burger Call

weird dream

I had this weird dream about Sideways. The first half was like the movie as always, but the second half turned into a Sin City violence flick. There was Paul Giamatti with guns blazing. Blood is flying everywhere. It was a weird dream, don't you think?

just typing

So yeah, its just a normal week as always. I play videogames 1-2 hours a day, do homework, eat food once or twice, browse the internet. That's pretty much my typical day here. Which also means boring.

Only video games, movies, and forums have kept me going.

I laughed at my brother's journal. He posted that the internet and video games will consume and eat me alive while beautiful women pass by me like the wind. I will meet a girl whom I will love, but maybe the time isn't right or I could just be doing the whole girl thing wrong. Don't get me wrong. Girls are beautiful and have amazing personalities. This is what scares me. Maybe scared is the wrong word to use. I just think of women as untouchable. Once I break that barrier, there is no going back. Love, rather than lust for them, will take over. See that is what I'm doing right now. I'm lusting after them. For example, that hot chick from the cancelled Point Pleasant, the hot woman from Lost, or the amazing and talented Emmy Rossum. All of them are beautiful, and sure I've had dreams about them :), but I seriously don't think I'll have a chance of having a relationship with any of them if they existed without all that hollywood glamour. I don't know when I'll make that huge step into manhood. I've never stepped into those bounds. This is what still makes me immature. I can't bring myself to push ahead and just ask a girl out. Girls saying no is hard on me because it will be even harder to be friends with them. They will keep on thinking "omg, I can't believe he actually likes me.....what a freak." I guess that's just my problem. I just want to kiss a girl for about five minutes (which constitues into the phrase "making out"), but I guess that is asking too much.

******

Congrats to my cousin, Felice, for graduating. I pray for good fortune in her future. I hope one day that she will become very successful.

*****

I watched Sin City on friday. This is truly an amazing achievement in film. Not only did it look remarkable, it also had a cool theme to its stories. Watch this film if you can take its over-the-top action. No other film can compare to it.

****

As for videogames, I'm currently playing Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. This is much better than its predecessors. I'm having a blast playing it. The gameplay has been opened and it is not linear anymore.

****

Well that sums up what has been going on in my life and what I have been doing (which isn't much as you can see).

update

Sorry about not posting much. I've been thinking of not blogging at all once I see how many people actually read it. There is no point to it if no one is reading. You know what I mean? If at least ten people read my blog, then I'll keep on blogging. But if it any less, I might have to stop.
