"While I'll always prefer the original, there's no denying that The Grudge is a solid remake. What's truly sad is that a remake for a film made in 2003 needed to be done at all. If American audiences were a little more open-minded and willing to actually read subtitles, the original film could have been released here instead of making a new version just for American audiences."
