juno & some other crap

Well, I finally got the chance to see Juno. What a fantastic movie. It's certainly one of the top films this year. Ellen Page does a remarkable job playing Juno. All the jokes didn't seem like they were written on the page; they were fresh and natural. Hell, all of the characters are hilarious: the stepmom, the dad, the friend, etc. They all had their part to play and it was just a great experience just watching them unravel in the story.

I didn't get to watch Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem, but I will eventually I guess. It's worth seeing a popcorn flick once in a while even it sucks major shit. Or maybe I'll watch Hitman. Hmmmm, I don't know.

After the movie, I headed to Best Buy to buy The Witcher, an RPG for the PC, and Superbad for Blu-Ray since I got a gift-card for Christmas. I got the last copy of Superbad for $19.99 but didn't get The Witcher since it was sold out (goddamit). So, I just went online and just bought it there with the remainder of the gift-card plus my reward points. The game should be arriving within the next two weeks so I shouldn't worry about that. I have other games to play anyway. I just wanted to buy The Witcher now since it was on sale for $39.99. I also wanted to purchase another Wii game for the family because I'm thinking people are getting bored with the three games I have: Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Mario Galaxy (which they don't play, only me). But the game, Smartypants, was on sale for $19.99, but was goddamn sold out.

However, it is amazing though. During Christmas and yesterday, we were playing the Wii for hours and hours. I barely touch the thing outside of Mario Galaxy and here comes Christmas and the system gets used a lot. What is cool about it is that everybody seems to having a great time which you rarely see around our house. My mom is howling with laughter, Tito Sonny bowls too goddamn slow (which made all of laugh like crazy), my dad is still giving out pointers (but doesn't play because I think he is too scarred to play)......like I said, everybody is having a great time. This could be the reason why the Wii is so hard to find. Everybody wants to have a great time at home, lol.

I also bought God of War: Prince of Peace since I wanted to support The Movie Blog. So, I'll pass judgement on that documentary when it arrives. I also purchased Aquaria which was awarded best independent game of this year. The guys at the 1up Show and 1up Yours were raving about it so I decided to get it. And so far, it's freaking awesome. It's 2D so you don't have to mess with the camera and feels very Zelda/Metroid like. It's very cool that you have these powers that correlate to music patterns you do with the mouse. The game is very well made and I suggest you check out the demo. If you like what you see, be sure to buy it and help out the independent gaming community.
